Isabelle made her own breakfast today. She's learned a great deal in just a few short weeks using our sweet Pearables Home Economics book for little girls. Thus far she has learned how to use the toaster, peel and cut carrots, make scrambled eggs from start to finish, and she's also learned to understand and memorize the food pyramid and basic nutrition. Last week she learned to make French Toast and made us all dinner. I "help" by basic supervision with turning on stoves, skillets, and using knives -- but otherwise, she does all the work herself (including helping with cleanup). This morning she decided to make an "egg toaster". She did a great job and greatly enjoyed eating the fruit of her labor. Isabelle is six years old. I can't imagine what a capable young woman she will be in just a few short years.
