Hot Chocolate with School

Since Josiah has been in the middle school years, we've shared a sweet tradition nearly daily through the dark and cold winter months. During the hour where he and I work alone on various subjects of his school schedule, we make peppermint hot chocolate (complete with whipped cream of course) and sip it while warming our hands and discussing the subject at hand. We both look forward to this time and the sweet treat we share. It's a simple and yet treasured tradition.

Hi Kristi,

My name is Heather and I am a fellow Nampan. My husband works at Mercy too, in the IS department.

I am contemplating homeschooling my daughter, so your blog speaks volumes to me. While I'm not sure I am fit to homeschool, if this road opens up (ie. not getting into a charter school), I will embrace this with hungry, open arms and know that I'm not alone in my journey to raise the children God intended them to be.

Thanks for writing your experiences.
