After a wonderful visit with adopted parents and grandparents Len and Geri Back and family outside of Salem, Oregon, we headed south and landed in Lincoln City, Oregon for several days of much needed "unorganized, unsynchronized, unplanned" rest at the beach. We've rented a lovely beach home and adjoining ca
rriage house. With plenty of beds, the Wii, a football, diet Coke, chocolate, microwave popcorn, a basketfull of nerdy DVD's, and buckets of beach toys, we're set for a fun and relaxing time away from the hustle and bustle of home, work, and homeschooling. My Dad and his new wife Bonnie joined us on Tuesday and are enjoying
spending time with the grandkids and sightseeing in the area. The weather has been fairly nice, but typical of the Oregon coast. Today we may reach into the high 60's. The kids, particularly Isabelle, can spend HOURS just playing in the sand and surf. Joe and I bring a chair and take turns sitting, walking, playi
ng, sitting, beach combing, sitting, building sandcastles, and sitting. Smile. We sit a lot. God has been so gracious to provide us with this time of refreshing and reflection. There's nothing as awe-inspiring and yet humbling as seeing the majesty and magnitude of this beautiful Pacific ocean.
