It's been a tradition since Josiah was 2 or 3 years old, that we celebrate birthday mornings with "number pancakes". We have whole-wheat, buttermilk pancakes, with the birthday child getting pancakes in the shape of the age that he/she has now become. I used to make several attempts to get numbers like 3 and 8 just right, but I finally learned that I can just do a "rough draft" of sorts and then cut them out to accurate size and shape. It's been a fun way to document with pictures through the years!
As you can see, Josiah received his first gun for his 13th birthday! He's already been out once with Dad to shoot it!
