College Graduate at 18

On Christmas Eve ....  as we were enjoying the solace and comfort of being "just us" and turning our thoughts toward our evening plans, a package arrived in the mail .....

Josiah's college diploma.
There couldn't have been a better gift.

After 3 years study prep.,  tests, and online classes -- his efforts paid off.
He received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Thomas Edison State College using the College Plus program.
He graduated with a 3.9 G.P.A. prior to turning 18 years old.
Amazing.

Much to his chagrin, I just HAD to celebrate.  We kept it small -- just extended family.   Aunts, uncles, cousins and proud grandparents.  Our friends, just starting a cake business, did an amazing job marking the occasion with this incredible creation.  If it looks like marble, that's because it was colored to do so. With several layers of chocolate -- white and dark, it tasted divine!

I managed to keep it a surprise -- not easy in this household!  I'm so glad I captured this moment.  We had "Pomp and Circumstance" playing in the background with all of us awaiting his entrance (from the barn where his sister was holding him captive with a game of darts in the frigid cold!).
We're so proud of your efforts Josiah!
What an accomplishment.
To God be all the glory.
