We arrived home to spring! Blooming trees and green plants abound.
Our pasture is just a few weeks from needing to be baled and cut. This is great frolicking fun for one little girl and her goats.
The Kale dog was so happy to see us. The kids and I poured out of the RV before the tires had a chance to cool down in order to give him 3 weeks worth of snuggles. His tail hasn't stopped wagging :-)
We're experiencing another wet and cool spring (our third .... so much for global warming!) which does make for some beautiful moments for the shade loving plants.
More chicks arrived (these will be to raise, butcher, and eat I'm afraid) as well as turkeys to raise.
The weeds, other than those taking over the raspberry patch, have been manageable as long as my small staff spends their allotted hour-a-day doing yard work (usually weeding) alongside me.
Boys are becoming men and handling bigger responsibilities including mowing, edging, building, and moving. This is a blessing for them as well as for us.
The goats remain a favorite diversion each day. This is our inquisitive "Daisy" who nosed the camera as I giggled to take her picture. They are adorable -- just like big dogs!
The garden is growing its cold-weather crops. Seeds are being placed -- more each day awaiting the sun and the heat that is classic Idaho.
February's new chicks are just a month or two from beginning to lay. They have been moved temporarily to the turkey pen as they anxiously await the completion of their new home ....
Joe and Josiah are spending an hour or two each evening working toward finishing the outside attached pen to our "Kronz Coop". There are many details to consider as we have large numbers of birds of prey.
My work load is shifting as we finish up our schoolyear -- needing only to complete World Geography and science at this point as well as continuing to practice hard for end-of-year music recitals.
Isabelle spent several hours yesterday with bare feet in cool grass. She is most comfortable here ....
at home with the sun on her face and all of her favorites at her fingertips. We're counting our blessings!!
